Paul's Promotion

Paul was promoted to Lt. Commander. It was a neat ceremony and we always feel so patriotic after attending something like this. It really does make us proud to serve our country.

Then we celebrated by driving across the street to the Zoo. Grandma and Grandpa Shupe were here to celebrate with us.

Chloe's Dance Recital

Chloe did a beautiful job dancing to Harry Connick Jr's "A Wink And A Smile".

Papa and Nana came down from Las Vegas for the occasion!

Ryan presented her with Pink Roses after her performance. She was beaming from ear to ear just as a true STAR should. We are so proud of her!!!!

While Pat and Gwen were here visiting, we went on some outdoor adventures.  Our kids always love taking hikes at Torrey Pines Nature Preserve and we wanted to share it with them too.

 

  

Next day we went to Point Loma to see the lighthouse, the tide pools , and enjoyed the salty sea breeze.

 

 

Then we were tired and rested at home on the couch!

WE LOVE SOCCER!!!

Both Ryan and Chloe loved their soccer season. It was their first season ever. They ran hard, practiced hard, and fell hard a few times, but bounced right back up every time. It was fun to have good friends to be on the same team with!

Katherine Turns 34!
It was a fun day starting with a pedicure, then a soccer game, followed by lunch at McDonalds, then a Shopping Trip to Old Navy, a delicious Ice Cream Cake, and dinner out to George's At The Cove with our friends Shawn and Katie Cox!

Greg's 60th Birthday

It was a day we will never forget!  All of Greg's children and grandchildren surprised him by coming into town on a beautiful Saturday morning.  He was working outside on the yard and so we all had to park around the corner.  With the grandkids in front, we all started walking down the steet to his house while singing "Happy Birthday" as loud as we could.

You can't have a day with ALL the cousins at Grandma's and not swim....that would be pre-posterous!

AND YES......the birthday cake did have 60 candles on it.  Emily, Janey, and Marissa made sure of that!

It was a great day that went by all too fast and we hope to share in many more birthdays for 

GRANDPA!!!
