The Ortho Roast

It is tradition that the Chief Residents get roasted by the class behind them.  Most of the guys have many "roastable" tales that they have completely been embarrassed by throughout their lives.  However, how do you roast a kind, clean "Mormon Machine"?

You take a creative guy like Todd Fellars (above), also a fellow Mormon, who happens to like IBC Root Beer, who then creates a Jimmer Fredette label to glue onto the bottles, and have me stage a Root Beer laden man asleep after a BYU Basketball game....at 1:00 in the morning.  The hard part was the fact that he started to wake up in the middle of my little photo shoot, and I had to tell him "whatever you do....don't move and don't open your eyes"!!!!

Recognition Night

Julia is part of my family.  I think of her as a twin to Chloe so it is no surprise here that they are in matching dresses for Activity Day Recognition Night.  It was also talent night, so the girls decided to do their dance that they have been working on in Jazz for the past 6 months.  The best part is.......we spent all the money on the costume to find out the recital was on a Sunday.  The girls were devastated but did not falter in their beliefs at all.  What a great treat it was then when Sister Jensen announced talent night and the girls could, after all, wear their costumes and perform their dance.
It was AWESOME!!!!

Complete Cuteness

I have completely spoiled my kids, I know, but it gives me great joy to put their towels in the dryer for them while they are having their baths, and then bringing them their nice, warmed towel as they are stepping out.  I brought Callista her towel and she started to follow me to her room to get her PJ's, but then she wasn't there anymore.  I called her name and she said "I am in the dryer where it's warm".  I thought.....WHAT?  She wasn't kidding!!!

A Playdate with Ruby

When I moved to San Diego exactly 4 years ago, the first person who reached out to me was a woman by the name of Lisa Ryan.  I met her at Church our very first Sunday and she immediately invited me to join them for playgroup at Torrey Pines State Beach the following Friday.  I politely declined because I had a very cute 5 month old baby named Callista, and was completely overwhelmed with my 3 kids and could not imagine attempting the beach quite yet.  She herself, was expecting within a few weeks her own baby girl.  Little did I know then that she and I, and her sweet baby girl and mine would enjoy many playdates and memories together.  Our last playdate with Ruby we enjoyed the Birch Aquarium with lunch at Rubio's.  We will miss "Booby Jane" as Callista called her for her first few years, and her Mother.  This is a family who is always there when you need them and Lisa has an amazing, contagious laugh that I love to hear in my mind when Iam feeling sad.  Thank you Ruby for being such a great friend to Callista, and thank you Lisa for being such a great friend to me!

Art Corps Show

One of the highlights of the school year for us is the annual Art Corps show.  Because there is no art teacher at Hage ES  the parents go in and volunteer their time to teach these children art.  Since I have no artistic ability, I am very grateful for these Moms' who donate their time.

The LeClere Wedding

Paul and I went to Atlanta, GA over the weekend of May 19- May22 for our friends Lance and Keri's wedding.  Paul and Lance have been in the NMCSD Residency Program togther since we started in 2007.   The first night we got to stay with our friends the Richards'.  They have 6 beautiful and perfectly behaved children.  The youngest Tanner is 14 months old and would cry every time I even looked at him.  It was VERY obvious he wanted nothing to do with me.  now Paul on the other hand, he could not get enough of.  This is them dancing together on the floor together.
At least Claire liked me....she is four yrs old and was a good filler for me since I was missing Callista like crazy!
What I love most about best friends' is that you can not see each other for 4 years but once you are together it seems like it's only been 4 days.
 I love Janelle!
On Friday around noon we arrived at The Chateau Elan.  It is definitely the nicest place we have ever stayed in (except for the Rio Presidential Suite on our wedding night).  We headed straight for the pool because what else can you do in a place that is 90 degrees with 90% humidity.
The next day was Saturday May 21, 2011....the day of the wedding.  It was a beautiful ceremony.  lance's family had flown in their family pastor.  He added so many personal details to the ceremony and spoke of Lance in his younger years.....it was great.  Here is the group of us together : Katherine, Paul, Nate Hammel, Luke and Amy Bremner, and Todd Oswald.
The NMCSD Ortho Class of 2011:  Todd Oswald, Luke Bremner, Lance LeClere, Nate Hammel, and Paul Shupe.
 The Happily Married Couple!

This is Luke and Amy...he is extremely goofy, even when he is still sober.
 This is The Chateua Elan....Amazing!

It was a fabulous weekend, and I must thank my Mom and Dad for coming down and staying with our kiddos!

Mother's Day

The Friday before Mother's Day, Ryan's Kindergarten Class hosted a special luncheon with Pizza and Cookies.  He made me a beautiful crown and then sang me a song.  It was awesome!

To start the day I got breakfast in bed with a breakfast pastry and fresh strawberries (but we didn't get any pictures).  Then for dinner the kids and Paul made me a delicious dinner of Grilled Ribs, Corn on the Cob, Fresh Bread, Mac-N-Cheese, and a Peach Smoothie.
Ryan made me a beautiful card on which he told me I was 26 yrs old and my favorite food chocolate.
Callista made me a beautiful keychain and a picture frame with a picture of her and I in it.
Chloe gave me a "Promise Posy" which has petals of ways she can be helpful.  It is beautiful.
I know I am biased, but I am the most blessed Mother in the World to have 3 children who love me, and whom I hope get just a small glimpse of the love I have for them.  I love you...Chloe, Ryan, and Callista!
